Adire, dyed in our studio
This year we started dyeing our own adire and batik. Here is what makes the cloth special, and how to get a piece made in it.

In 2026 Elizabeth trained in textile design and we set up our own adire and batik dyeing in the studio. "Got my hand dirty making beautiful fabrics," as she put it.

What makes adire
Adire is one of Nigeria's great textile traditions. The cloth is patterned before it goes into the dye: tied, folded, stitched or painted with a resist (starch for adire, wax for batik), so the dye reaches some parts of the cloth and not others. Because every length is made by hand, no two pieces are exactly alike.
Why we dye our own
Dyeing our own cloth means we can design the fabric as well as the garment, choosing the colour, the pattern and where it falls on the body.
Wear it
Would you like a piece made in our hand-dyed cloth? Send us a message and tell us what you have in mind. And if you love ready-to-wear, join the list: it returns on 28 October.
